This is a serious matter

"Considered it handled." - Olivia Pope

First things first I refuse to watch the video for obvious reasons and rest in peace Sonya Massey. I hope that cop is prosecuted to the fullest extend. Also now and honestly never will it be an appropriate time to make think pieces or do skits regarding a black woman being unalived on camera. At some point I need for everybody to understand that there's boundaries and a certain level of respect for others when it comes to creating content and getting to the bag.

It's been a draining week as a black woman, but honesty what else is new.

November 2024

Since 2016 the presidential elections have been nerve racking considering who was in the running for the republican party and this election is no different. When Biden announced he's no longer in the running I had a moment of panic, then a moment of calmness hit me when I sat with the fact that a black woman was his replacement. I never talk about politics on this platform because it's a highly controversial topic, but this is a serious matter and I don't care if I lose anybody who's a Trump supporter.

I can't tell you who to vote for even though it's obvious who I'm voting for, but I can cover some facts and things to consider before November because there's a lot of misinformation circulating the internet and the republicans as well some law abiding hateful citizens are about to do everything they can to slander her and other black women.

Some things to consider

  • Celebrities shouldn't influence your decision. Voting is about electing the party that has YOUR best interest at heart not who Amber Rose or Sexxy Red chooses to endorse. Celebrities aren't necessarily wrong for their stance because they benefit in some way from what Republicans plan to do, but please ask yourself how Trump plans will benefit you or the black community. I'm also disappointed that Sexxy Red endorsed him because she has influence over a demographic of people who either didn't plan to vote or wouldn't take the time to educate themselves on who they're voting for.

  • Fuck those stimulus checks. I get so enraged and pissed off when black people justify voting for Trump based off chump change that was followed by inflation and yes I said chump change because in the grand scheme of things $1,200 wasn't change your life type of money. Also, those 2 stimulus checks he signed off on weren't some type of reparations and I wish more people in the black community understood this.

  • Educate yourself because there's a lot of false information being spread. Kamala was a prosecutor and it was her job to convict people and the number of convictions circulating the internet is incorrect. Please do your research and fact check everything. Also I love my people, but some people deserved prison time. For example, Ray Ray who was scamming everybody or somebody's favorite uncle who sexual assaulted other young family members deserve prison time. Yes black people are wrongly convicted, but sometimes the justice system and prosecutors were justified in locking some of our people up.

  • Project 2025 or Agenda 47. Trump said he's not endorsing project 2025, but his plans with agenda 47, is very similar to the conservative game plan. Please educate yourself on both game plans before November.

  • The former presidency impacts the next presidency. I agree that Biden could've done more, but he was also dealing with the impact of things that Trump did during his presidency. For example, Roe vs. Wade was overturned in June 2022, and three of the nine people on the Supreme Court were appointed by Trump. There's nothing Biden or Harris could've done because they weren't given the opportunity to elect any officials and most of the officials were elected by former presidents who represent the Republican party.

  • The impact of the No Child Left Behind Act. This act was issued by Bush in 2002 and ended in 2015, but during this election season and whenever other serious matters occur we witness the consequences of this act. No shade, but too many people who could barely read or write a complete comprehensive sentence are on the internet saying and spreading false narratives or lack the mindset to fact check information. This also reminds me of a tweet I saw recently that said, "Remember in school they had kids separated. Honor classes, regular classes, and slow class.. see the problem with twitter is they got us all on here together and we not supposed to be." Let that tweet sink in.

  • Your vote matters. The 15th amendment gave African American men the right to vote in 1870, and the 19th amendment gave American women the right to vote, and amendment 24 & 26th got rid of poll taxes and lower the voting age to 18. It's disrespect to our ancestors to say you're not going to vote. Our votes matter, else they wouldn't have had laws in place to keep us from voting. Also outside of the presidential election there's 468 seats in congress that are up for election. Who's in congress damn near matters more than who's the president. Congress enact laws that influence the daily lives of all Americans and congress has the sole power to declare war. If there's a democrat president and congress seats can be filled with democratic parties I'm confident that life as a middle or lower class American will improve.

  • Beating the odds. If she won as vice president and Obama was president for 8 years I'm confused why people are doubting the possibility of her winning the 2024 election. Black women are the most educated and qualified demographic, and we beat the odds every day. Instead of being negative more people should encourage others to vote. Also $81 million dollars was raised for her presidency within 24 hours and 55,000 black man got on a call and raised $1.3 million. Stop doubting her, say a prayer, and let's watch something iconic happen.

You don't have to like either party but come November it's either an AKA or the KKK.

For the record, it's not about voting for her because she's black or a woman just like it wasn't about voting for Obama because he was black, it's about voting for the candidate that has your best interest in mind as well as the person who's most qualified. Trump is a reality star turned felony who isn't qualified to do anything, meanwhile Kamala has experience as Attorney General in California and US Senate. I don't understand why every job in America has qualifications and one of the most important jobs only has three qualifications and none of the requirements require former political experience.

A message to black queens

A lot of content is going to be triggering, rage bait, and aimed at making Kamala and black women in general look incompetent and unqualified, please disengage and don't spend your energy arguing or trying to prove a point to people who don't fuck with us.

Her presidency is going to iconic and I'm ready to rock my silk press in November.

Let her presidency and everything else our ancestors have done give you the fuel and confident to do anything you set your mind too.

Too many black women have beat the odds. Look at all the rap girlies going on sold out tours and everyday I see a queen graduating with another degree, opening a business, or starting a family.

The world is yours, your options are endless, and this is your sign to go be great.

If you want to go back to school, find a program & enroll.

If you're ready for marriage and kid, take dating seriously, have standards, pray, and get ready to thrive in your wifey era.

If you want to start a business, start that business.

Our ancestors are guiding us, so many other black women want to see you win and always remember we're the originals and everybody else is a wanna be.

JT said it best, "Cause y'all said I couldn't do it, look at my black ass (yeah)"
