Freestyle Friday

Disclaimer: A light hearted post is needed right now.

"A truly free spirit is one that doesn't just question the norms but understands them deeply enough to transcend them." – Anonymous

I was hesitate to post this in light of everything that's transpired this week but consistency is key and the show must go on.

Let's get into what's been on my mind lately....

  1. I’m at peace knowing 92% of black women & almost 75% of BM voted for her. When it mattered the most we came together & she can walk away knowing the black community was rooting for her.

  2. There's a difference between somebody being a bad person or have corrupted character vs. somebody who's going through a rough phase.

  3. I never thought I’d see the day where women would bash other women for remaining natural. I’m a high maintenance girly, but I love how some of the girls don’t feel the need to do all that. Some people are God’s favorite and their face and natural body eats down.

  4. Spiritual psychosis is real and not talked about enough.

  5. Y’all will know when I’ve reached a certain level of success when you see my crew and I in the middle of some foreign water on a boat and I’m popping champagne bottles and singing “I’m a real ass, rich ass, bitch from the south.”

  6. It’s okay to think you’re all that. People thrive off of women, especially black women believing they’re not that girl. Of course don’t get cocky, but if you’re that girl then you're just that girl.

  7. I want the community to release themselves from the struggle mentality. You don’t have to endure struggle love. We don’t have to “get it out the mud” and talk down on our people who were more fortunate.

  8. My favorite trickin’ song is Please Tell Me by Future.

  9. The video vixen era was a time. IG baddies ain’t got shit on the video vixen girls.

  10. Every time niggas do some bullshit I hear Kia saying “You put your trust in a nigga.”

  11. I’m not a fan of insincere apologies. People often act knowingly hurtful and an apology should be given after a certain period of time has elapsed to ensure its sincerity.

  12. I’ve made a lot of progress with learning to forgive people but as a person with a dismissive mentality I still prefer to say fuck them and move on as if they never existed.

  13. There’s a difference between being fuckable and being valued. I’m so glad Jayda Wayda mentioned this when the pretty privilege topic started circulating again.

  14. Feeling and believing you’re that girl is an inside job, the femininity and dating coaches can’t help women like this. I highly recommend more women invest in a therapist.

  15. I get so irritated when people ask me for money or help with something because outside of my parents I often feel like I don’t have anybody else to lean on. Granted nobody owes me anything but some people need to remember I don’t own them shit either.

  16. I know I’m going to win and win big because I show love and mind my business.

  17. In light of recent events I know God hears my prayers, knows my deepest desires, and works in mysterious ways.

  18. Don't be scared to ask your man or whomever you're casually seeing for something because I promise he's not scared to ask for some pussy. (and no I don’t mean this in a prostitution type of way.)

  19. After working in the restaurant/nightlife industry on and off for over a decade I know a drug addict when I see one. I promise y’all Nicki M. and other known creators aren’t coked out when they go on a rant. Some people are more theatrical than others.

  20. Something about a white robe + red flowers and a hotel room = fire pictures.

  21. Points were made when JT said, “She think that she fuckin' with me, is this bitch okay?"

  22. I am confident in my ability to be a great mother, but I worry about the prospect of being a single parent due to unforeseen circumstances. For my mental well-being I'm going to need a village whether that means temporarily moving back to NC, moving my support system near me, or hiring a nanny. I’m not built for being a single mother.

  23. I don’t think having money equates to somebody not being an abuser nor does it gives anybody an excuse to have more kids then they can actively be present for.

  24. I find it amusing when individuals, such as influencers and celebrities, criticize those with regular 9-5 jobs or who belong to the middle class, and then expect the same people to support their business or attend their club events.

  25. I can’t believe there’s a generation of people who don’t understand that once Wayne sampled somebody’s song it was no longer theirs. Before Jacquee there was Weezy F baby, and No Ceilings is one of the best mixtapes from the early 2000’s.

  26. Ladies, I love us but we need to take heed to things men are saying. They're not making an effort to lie anymore they're straight up saying what they think and how they feel. DDG went on a podcast tour after his breakup, Offset couldn't wait to inform Cardi that she's his baby momma, and Kirk plus Menceedees stay embarrassing their women on national TV. Not to mention Cam stated how he feels and continues to embarrass his 3rd baby momma every chance he gets. All of these examples plus more are proof that who you procreate with matters and if you stand for nothing you'll fall for anything.

  27. The music at the strip club is top-notch.

  28. Everyday isn’t going to be a bad bitch day and that’s okay

As always it's feels good when I get to be creative and release my inner thoughts. Next week I plan to find the words to vocalize how myself and most black women are feeling after the election. Until then, stay prayed up and take care.
