Unplugged: Weekend Reset + Social Detox

Disclaimer: I did what works for me, please do what works for you.

"Get comfortable with being uncomfortable."

My vibe has been feeling off since the holidays.

Christmas day I started feeling sick and by the time I made it back to HTX I went to the ER due to how bad I felt. They gave me a steroid shot, then a few days later I'm at urgent care because I started feeling like shit again. Turns out I had a severe upper respiratory infection and it took damn near a month to fully recover from it.

Now it's the end of January, I'm finally feeling better, and I get the brilliant idea to find a new bar job. The money wasn't residing anymore, and my motto is when the money stops making sense then it stops making sense for me to come to work.

Also the pressure of turning 30 was weighing on me and I was finding myself questioning what the fuck am I'm doing with life.

So I went to an open interview, got hired and for the past 3 weeks I've been in autopilot mode. Between my 9-5, finishing my last 2 weeks at my previous bar job, training at the new spot, and not being on good terms with my momma took it's toll on me to the point that I broke down crying sometime last week during my lunch break.

As much as I hate crying I needed that release, it brought a lot of clarity to my mental.

I reached out to my momma and we made amends.

I left my previous bar job on good terms, so I can go back if I need too.

The money at the new spot is residing.

My Valentine's Day was great. I went to a sweetheart brunch at my favorite vegan spot and the pictures I posted was fire. Then a wonderful gift was delivery to my place this weekend.

Now things are starting to settle down and I decide it's time to initiate the 12-week year. The 12-week year is a book by Brian Moran and it's a guide to shorten your execution cycle down from one year to twelve weeks. This is the perfect plan to combat procrastination and be mindful of time while achieving obtainable goals. I'm turning 30 in 18 months, and to avoid the annual birthday blues I have to get on my shit and stay on my shit. Also everything I had going on was a wake up call that I need to reel myself back in and get on track. To prepare for the 12-week year and level up phrase of my life I completed a weekend reset + social detox.

Here's a breakdown

  • 3 Day cleanse: Total Body reset (can be purchased at Target, Walgreens, etc.)

  • Plenty of water

  • Clean eating: smoothie/juice for 2 meals and one healthy meal (salad, veggies, etc.)

  • No social media.

  • Rest and relax.

Green Smoothie Recipe

  • Lemon Juice

  • Coconut water

  • Handful of spinach

  • Granny smith apple

  • Cup of pineapples

It's been 6 months since I did a detox and this one was long overdue.

Yes it was challenging, but necessary.

It felt good to be off the socials and living in the moment. I re-read one of my favorite Valentine's Day series, spent time with one of my bffs, and did some retail therapy. However I did record some content which will be on Tiktok later this week.

My body feels good. I'm ready for me to get back in the gym and be on my vegetarian lifestyle after eating out for 3 weeks.

Most importantly I'm in a good mental space.

I highly recommend implementing some type of reset or detox if things in your life feel off or aren't going as planned.

My 12 week year starts Feb. 26th. I'm going to spend this week finishing up the audiobook and design a 12-week planner (will be available on Etsy soon). The countdown to 30, is getting real and I will be documenting my progress on Tiktok.

Stay tuned... operation level up by 30 is in full effect! I'm being serious this time lol.
